Music label Ambitiouz Entertainment pulled out a move what most considered shallow last week when they shared Reason for his tweet about Emtee.
The past week rapper Reason tweeted that he and other South African rappers have decided to join forces and assist Emtee on his current distasteful situation with his label Ambitiouz Entertainment. Emtee wants to leave the stable but it isn’t letting him go. According to latest reports the rapper allegedly owes AE millions and that the contact he signed ties him strictly to them which can drag the process of departure.
Reason felt that if SA hip hop can unite to help the Manando hitmaker it would be the best example of solidarity.
“It warms my heart to find myself constantly in conversations with fellow musicians who want to get involved in helping @emteethehustla_ in one way or another. Saving Emtees career, is actually saving his Children and Family’s future. More so, we would be saving a REAL TALENT,” he wrote.
The label’s official Twitter accounted retweeted the tweet and captioned “Father Of 4 – Track 12 Ft. Cardi B” .They deleted the tweet and retweeted once more with a “cap” as caption. The rapper responded by calling their actions childish.

After ending her relationship with businessman Ian Sibiya and a former relationship with Amaza Ntshanga, songbird Zahara is ready to try again in the love department, telling SowetanLIVE’s sister publication TshisaLIVE that she is ready to fetch her African prince.
Zahara confirmed to TshisaLIVE this week that her relationship with Ian was over but declined to comment on the details of the split.
Attempts to contact Ian for comment were unsuccessful at the time of publishing this article.
Zahara and Ian were last pictured together on social media three months ago when Ian shared a video of Zahara singing happy birthday to him.
But just three weeks ago Zahara was still referring to Ian as her “man”. She also still follows him on social media.
The couple said shortly after their romance started that they had plans to get married.
Zahara’s cousin and manager Oyama Dyosiba claimed the singer has been single for a while and joked that he could not remember a time when she wasn’t available.
“It seems like forever. She has always been single in my mind. We want to forget the past and now move on.”
He said Zahara was looking for “an African prince” who could treat her right.
Zahara laughed in agreement and said that while hot and rich may be on the list of requirements, she was looking for a God-fearing man.
“I don’t want much. I just want someone who is God-fearing. I am a Christian and I want someone that is God-fearing and will respect me.”
But she is taking it slow and said she was focusing on her career at the moment.
“I recently came back from Rwanda where I had several great performances and was also given an award. I am focusing on music and what happens, happens.”
FNB customers expressed mixed emotions yesterday over mistaken payments made into some bank accounts by the bank and then later reversed.
While some of the banks’ clients were panicking that the bank’s systems may have been breached and their money was no longer safe, others’ excitement over mistaken deposits were shortlived.
The deposits into people’s accounts resulted in a whirlwind of excitement on social media, but some customers slammed the bank for security stands.
FNB would not answer direct questions on what led to the slip-up with money flowing into people’s accounts, but instead it announced that the transactions would be reversed.
Yesterday, one of FNB customers, Aphelele Lusizi, 22, from Cape Town, said he was disappointed after R5,000 was deposited into his account on Tuesday and reversed the next morning.
“I’m thinking of using another bank. I don’t trust FNB. If this can happen then it means my money is not safe,” he said.
Lusizi said he decided to check his account to see if there was extra money after reading about other people’s experiences on Twitter.
“I was shocked and confused. But I decided to wait for 24 hours to see what would happen,” he said.
Lusizi said some people had spent the funds sent to them.
Ngato Rametse from Siyabuswa, Mpumalanga, said this was not concerning enough for him to leave the bank. Rametse said he received just over R800 in his account but it was reversed the next day.
“Putting money in banks is a risk we take everyday. Unfortunately, the law requires us to use banks because you can’t keep large amount of money like R1m on you,” he said.
FNB spokesperson Daniel Kaan said the issue of incorrect balances on some of its customers’ accounts had been resolved by yesterday afternoon. “The incorrect balances were due to delayed debit card transactions for purchases by impacted customers,” Kaan said.
He said they would communicate directly with affected customers due to confidentiality.
“FNB apologises to impacted customers for the inconvenience,” Kaan said.

The visual is a typical Nicki affair — lots of skin, fancy cars and braggadocious bars — and set to the Caribbean-flavored vibe of the cut.
Nicki is set to go on tour with Chris Brown this summer. Although Variety originally reported the run would begin on September 13, Brown confirmed on Instagram that will be the tail end of the tour — not the beginning.

AKA threw shades on Cassper’s beef with Prince Kaybee and tweeps dragged him like wolves would to a piece of steak, he was told to mind his drinking water diet.
Supa Mega announced that he will be using Twitter for 8 minutes per day and called it a water based diet of minding his own business. When he decided to share a penny for his thoughts which was shade on the ongoing beef of Cassper and Prince, people came at him from all corners.

“When all those Men are trash hashtags pop up … it’s the ones who make the most noise that are the most trash … isn’t that obvious?” he added.
Here’s how Tweeps roasted him:
Trina and Nicki Minaj have returned to the Cash Money Millionaires’ glory days for inspiration. The two put their spin on the single “Project Bitch,” which originates from Cash Money’s 2000 soundtrack Baller Blockin, for a new collaboration titled “BAPS.”
The song heavily samples “Project Bitch” and even maintains Juvenile’s hook from almost two decades ago. Trina and Nicki also utilize the same flows that Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne used on the original.

The Times Herald-Record reported that Teresa Rose Smith, 23, was sentenced to 10 years for a November 1 incident at a Town of Newburgh motel room. After giving birth, Smith got dressed, charged her cellphone, and got a cab to pick up heroin.
Noting that Smith was experiencing withdrawal, lawyer Donalda Gillies said Smith’s birth was fast and “almost hard to understand” in her drug-addicted state, according to the news outlet.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has reportedly dropped Young Thug’s felony gun charge from last year.
TMZ reports authorities didn’t discover any DNA on the gun found in the vehicle Thugger was traveling in at the time. Investigators were unable to determine who the weapon belonged to because there were two other people in the car. As a result, Thug is off the hook.
Thug’s attorney Michael Goldstein said, “I commend the District Attorney’s Office for making the right decision after carefully reviewing the facts and body worn video over the past nine months. The fact so much time and work went into this decision reinforces trust in our system of justice.”
The Slime Language mastermind was arrested on August 16, 2018, which just happened to his 27th birthday and the night of his Los Angeles album release party. He was later charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle — a felony.
It was originally believed a member of Thug’s entourage ran into a police cruiser, prompting a search. But according to the latest update, it was the cop car that was “unable to stop in time” before hitting the Rolls-Royce.

First National Bank on Wednesday morning confirmed the unlikely stories its clients started to share on Tuesday: free money in their accounts.
The bank said an error meant balances had been reflected incorrectly in some accounts.
The highest reported though unconfirmed amount to date is R3,600 but anecdotal evidence suggests a very large number of customers saw lesser amounts, of around a few hundred rand, mysteriously appear in various bank accounts.
Some questioned the windfall – and were told it was legitimate.
That did not last.
According to Daniel Kaan, FNB’s transactional banking spokesperson, the incorrect balances in clients’ bank accounts were due to delayed debit card transactions.
And now FNB wants their money back. According to Kaan, the bank has been in contact with affected customers and the matter “has been resolved” – though that does not appear to be entirely accurate, and the bank may find the situation more tricky than its statement suggests.
It is not yet clear how much the bank gave away in total as FNB would not provide further information on questions from Business Insider South Africa.
FNB did not say whether the errors were linked to a system update it conducted over the long weekend.

American Hip hop radio host & journalist Sway Colloway was invited to Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast show where he revealed his thoughts about certain rappers from South Africa who have visited his show in the US Sway In The Morning.
Colloway flew to SA a few days ago for the Sway Cypher on Castle Lite Unlocks. During his interview on Metro FM he was sure to answer questions most Hip hop enthusiasts are probably curious to know. Sway touched on the topics ranging from which SA rapper gave the best freestyle rap on his how to what he thinks of Kwesta, Cassper and AKA.
“AKA came into the space, and his whole team absolutely walk with humility, were very beautiful, even contact me beyond their visit. I’ve had great experience with everyone, Kwesta the same thing Nasty C the same thing,” he said.
“Cassper Nyovest was the first to come up on my show and his presence, his business acumen is incredible,” said Sway. “We didn’t know, like, how much of a business mind this man had, and his energy was just… he’s hungry. He stays hungry, so he came up and that opened the door, AKA came by soon after. I understand they have the division, and I’ve always tried to talk to [them], ‘Let’s try make that a little better.’”
“I think Kwesta is important,” said Sway. “I can hear an American style in America really well. Therefore, when I come to South Africa, I wanna feel like I’m learning something from the sound and the dialect. When you incorporate that into hip-hop… so Kwesta, to me, opened to doors to many sounds. And then Stogie T opened doors to sounds. ’cause whenever an artist comes to the show, I do some research and I listen to some of their older projects,” he added.

Nasty C is sure building up momentum and excitement with the new music he is yet to release through recent teasers.
The award winning rapper created magic with Strings & Blings it is no wonder why he is working twice as more to keep on delivering the best after the best. Earlier this year the Hell Naw hitmaker announced that he will be dropping an EP but made no mention of the release date instead he has been grabbing the attention of fans through 1 minute teasers dropped from his social media pages.
Nasty C is known for dropping lit tracks and now he has promised to keep music lovers even more heated up with his upcoming music. The known acts featured on the album are the American stars T.I No. ID and Big Sean.
The rapper hinted that the album will release in Summer which is a few months away. For now have a listen at the teaser below.

It is no wonder that most people are curious to know which South African rapper Sway thought gave the best performance on his Sway In The Morning hip hop show. Thanks to his visit to SA he has answered the question.
According to his latest interview on Metro FM’ Fresh Breakfast Show Sway was sure to break down his thoughts about SA Rappers making mention of the likes of Nasty C, Kwesta and Cassper.
During the interview Sway mentioned who gave the best freestyle on his show from all the rappers from SA that have been to his show.
“Hands down, I think Stogie T had the hottest verse from anybody that came here.”
He added that Nasty C is however the rapper who could take over America the way he is so talented, basically Nasty C is the rapper that stood out but Stogie gave a killer freestyle.
“But Nasty C probably shocked me the most. I thought all the verse were great, but if you gonna ask me who I thought stood out or in those particular times, showed up the best, Stogie T came, he said something like ‘I’ll put your certified hyenas in an elephant grave.’ I was like, ‘Did he just disrespect me? We just had a cool conversation. On my show?’” He added.

A single mother of two from Cape Town got much more than she expected when she asked for a R10 prepaid electricity voucher on Twitter on Sunday. Her tweet included a picture of her prepaid meter displaying 0.00 kWh.
Thabisa Xhelithole’s tweet soon started circulating and tweeps opened their pockets, recharging her electricity by buying vouchers ranging from between R30 and R100.
By Wednesday, the 33-year-old had received thousands of units from well-doers, had been interviewed on national television and raised money to pay for her son’s school fees.
“I am very surprised, I can’t believe what is happening to me,” Xhelithole told News24.
Cash-strapped and not wanting to ask her neighbours for help, she instead turned to Twitter.
“I don’t use social media that often and have only been on Twitter since last year. Social media uses too much data,” Xhelithole said.
But despite her relatively small social media footprint, her initial tweet has since been retweeted more than 6 000 times, has received more than 15 000 likes, plus she has racked up more than 3 000 followers.
“They helped me a lot. Not only by buying me electricity but they also paid for my son’s school fees and for food and other things I need.”
Xhelithole, who has been working at an MRP Home store since 2006, has two children – a 10-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl – whom she raises by herself.
She did not expect such a huge reaction at all. “I never even checked [how many followers]. I’m not into social networks, this was my first time, now I’m trending. I only opened my Twitter [account] last year. It uses all the data.
“It’s unbelievable. People are still loading electricity. I told them that I’m fine now, but they are still loading.
“I don’t know how to thank these people – they helped me a lot,” Xhelithole said.
“I have no words to express the love that people from all walks have shown me. I will keep everyone posted with the extra miles that I was also blessed. May God bless you all,” she tweeted.

Sjava is once again trending on Twitter for his sentiments about South African rappers who don’t use vernacular in their music.
The musician tweeted last night that from all the black SA rappers who were at the Castle Lite Unlocks Sway Cypher not a single one rapped in their home language. “So vele ay that Meek show yesterday there was not even one rapper that raps in a South African language at the Sway cyphers,” he wrote.
Tweeps commented on the tweet with others defending his views on South African rappers trying their hardest to sound American and others felt that it doesn’t matter which language one uses to rap in and that English is also part of the South African languages.

Cassper feels people are being too judgemental towards Nadia and that she must be left alone to enjoy her body.
Nadia Nakai rocked an outfit during her Castle Lite Unlocks performance on Monday night which left little to the imagination showing off all her assets. The image led to people on social media expressing different opinions. Others said that the Imma Boss rapper uses her body to stay relevant while others felt the criticism was unfair and that she wasn’t doing anything different from the likes of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj who are widely admired.
Cassper who is her label boss came into her defence. Taking to Twitter to spew his rage he said that must let her enjoy her body and stop judging her.
“Why is it that Ya’ll always on Nadia’s Case about how she dresses? Who are you to tell a woman how to dress ? It’s her body!!!! Let the poor girl enjoy her body!!!! This has to stop,” he wrote.
Nadia who has fallen victim a number of times to cyberbullying said that at this point what people say doesn’t really matter. In addition to all that the Femcee is set to drop her album on the 28th of June titled Nadia Naked.
Award-winning hip-hop juggernaut Emtee has crashed his two luxury German cars within two weeks and allegedly fled the scenes of the accidents.
He also allegedly refused to report the accidents to the police for reasons his record company Ambitiouz Records said it cannot disclose.
The rapper, real name Mthembeni Ndevu, allegedly refused to report the accidents to the police for insurance purposes when his record company asked him to do so.
He also fled the Midrand house the stable had rented for him after he allegedly failed to pay almost R100,000 for water and electricity.
As if that wasn’t enough, one of the rooms of the house was allegedly badly damaged after it was gutted by fire.
These explosive claims were made by the musician’s record label management in response to last weekend’s media reports that they had repossessed the mega star’s house and cars after he dumped them.
The company had drafted the statement to respond to the reports but later decided not to.
It was, however, leaked to Sunday World by one of its former junior PR officials. Ambitiouz owner Kgosi Mahumapelo declined to comment
According to the drafted statement, Emtee was driving with two occupants in a Mercedes-Benz GLE 4×4 when he allegedly crashed it into a street pole in January. The rapper allegedly fled the scene and left the damaged vehicle behind.
“The record label did not repossess the Mercedes-Benz as alleged. At around 6am on Sunday 27th January 2019, Ambitiouz received a call from a tow-truck driver informing us about an unattended Mercedez Benz GLE 4×4 that was involved in an accident. The Ambitiouz team quickly rushed to the scene and on their arrival, Emtee and the two passengers were not there. The car was towed to an approved panel beater in Sandton, who gave us a quote of R706,787.

Award-winning South African hip-hop artist and record producer AKA went to sound engineer school because “I needed a fancy something to make sure that my parents would let me go do this music thing.” If nothing else, here’s where one can zero in on the rapper’s unwavering determination to make it to the big time.
“I really went to go study at the sound engineer school because they had a studio,” quips AKA, whose small talk jokes run as long as his limbs. “I learned how to use Pro Tools and eventually learned to understand the language of sound. I understand sonically how to get what’s in my mind into words.”
Born Kiernan Jarryd Forbes in Cape Town and raised in Johannesburg, AKA began his career as an MC in the South African band called Entity before parting ways and eventually embarking on a solo career in 2009.
Hits like “Mistakes,” “In My Walk” and “Do It” carried him to the No. 1 spot on the South African 5FM Top 40. His solo debut, Altar Ego, earned him a slew of Metro FM Music Awards, including in the categories of Best Newcomer, Best Hip Hop Solo Act and Best Produced Album. The result of such honors culminated in his being crowned the “Prince of South African Rap.”
An opener for the likes of Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar among others, AKA continues to foster a musical vein between the Americas and South Africa fusing the sounds of Afrobeat, trap, hip-hop and Afropop. Songs like “Fela in Versace” and “Fully In” stand as a testament to AKA’s unique versatility and, therefore, reach. Is it any wonder he’s up for a 2019 BET Award in the category of Best International Act?
What’s more, AKA put us on game concerning a few things related to his native South Africa and to his musical influence. Here are five things we learned from speaking with the artist. Make sure to catch this year’s BET Awards on Sunday (June 23), live from the Microsoft Theater.
1) BEHIND HIT SINGLE ‘FELA IN VERSACE’ IS THE LEGACY AND INFLUENCE OF FELA KUTI
“Basically, it’s a juxtaposition to imagine Fela Kuti wearing Versace. It’s just like a mood. Fela is a king. He’s a legend. He’s an icon of Africa, so for you to bring those worlds together in your mind, it sounds interesting. It sounds catchy. It’s like, ‘Oh, what would it be like if Fela was in a silk Versace shirt?’ That was the mood and vibe in which the song was created. We just wanted something quirky, something African and something with a nice vibe to it. If you watch the music video and you listen to the music, it has that royal, iconic African kind of thought.”
2) 80’S MUSIC IN SOUTH AFRICA LITERALLY GOES ‘POP’
“We had this period in South African music called bubblegum in the ‘80s. It was South African pop music with the likes of Afropop singer Brenda Fassie. There was also Johnny Clegg as far as South African music goes, who my dad was really into.”
3) SOUTH AFRICA’S CAPITAL, CAPE TOWN, IS A COUNTRY ALL ITS OWN
“Cape Town is dope. It’s a city that is very complex. It’s very complicated. I moved from Cape Town when I was 6 years old to Johannesburg. Johannesburg is where I would actually consider myself from, because I lived there since I was about 7 years old. Cape Town is very separated. People keep to themselves. I would say that it feels like it is it’s own country within South Africa, because it’s very different. It’s very tourist-orientated. It is also the birthplace of where all the culture comes from. All the best athletes come from Cape Town. The best musicians. But Johannesburg is where it all gets mixed up. It’s like completely mixed up, and nobody is actually from Johannesburg.”
4) NORTH AMERICAN HIP-HOP VS. SOUTH AFRICAN HIP-HOP
“The main distinction is that rap and hip-hop music is all about what the person writing it or recording it has gone through [and] where they are from. So by virtue of being from different places, the content is going to be different. The slang we use is different. The terms we use is different. The sound is different. The content. Everything. Hip-hop is the one genre that is very dependent on where you’re from. If you’re authentic, you’re going to sound like the place you’re from.”
5) TOP 5 DEAD OR ALIVE
“My Top 5 would have to be Kanye West, Jay-Z — I gotta have them. Then there’s Nas, he also has to be there. Eminem and… then it’s like the last part is a cross between Kendrick, Drake and Andre 3000. That’s a fair Top 5, right?”

Whack but not broke, iFani came & went like the rest of new rappers his music didn’t last, the last time we saw iFani he was a presenter on SABC on a show called Stambo for dancers, after that he went with wind.

Nadia Nakai gave people something to debate about last night (even today) when she rocked the type of outfit that was rather too revealing resulting in her name trending with people posing all kinds of comments.
The outfit showcased her ass and the outline of her genital leaving nothing to the imagination. Social media users even compared her to Zodwa Wabantu who is famous for stripping naked with everything in display.
Some tweeps criticized her while others came in to raise a point of how she was doing something so many other American female musicians have done but were never judged.
It wasn’t the first time Nadia trended for reasons concerning her looks, last year an image of her without make-up made rounds on social media with people saying all kinds of things. On her last interview with Daily Sun she mentioned to this day she isn’t over the cyber bullying. For this one she expressed that she doesn’t care about what people say.
“I just want to be as authentic as possible and show people exactly who I am. I have become confident in what I like, and not what people think will work for the market. I feel like I have grown with my fans and what I enjoy, they will enjoy.”

Metro FM presenter and club deejay Thato “DJ Fresh” Sikwane has been temporarily booted out of his show by the SABC for using foul language on air.
The decision to suspend him follows Sikwane’s on-air rant against one of the listeners during which he used the word “msunery” in response to the listener’s comments on his show. The word is an adaptation of an isiZulu swear word.
He also lambasted another listener claiming that the listener should “stop tweeting from his a$$”. The incident occurred on May 20.
His comments did not sit well with one of the listeners, Daniel Mokwa, who laid a complaint with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA (BCCSA) stating that the presenter had used strong language.
Mokwa also urged the SABC to discipline the breakfast show co-host, stating that he was behaving like an untouchable person at the public broadcaster. SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu confirmed that the deejay had been yanked off air, but declined to give more details.
“The SABC can confirm that Mr Thato Sikwane has been unscheduled on Metro FM until further notice. This is a matter between the organisation and Mr Sikwane and the SABC is not in a position to comment further,” said Mthembu.
Sunday World has seen the suspension letter signed by Metro FM station manager Sibongile Mtshali which was sent to the deejay on Tuesday.
It reads in part: “It has come to management’s attention that you have been allegedly involved in activities and conduct that are in breach of your independent contractors agreement and have brought the SABC into disrepute with reference to the following amongst others:
“@During the broadcast of Fresh Breakfast on Tuesday 21 May 2019, you said “what Msunery is this”, and “tweeting out your ass” in reference to a listener’s tweet.
A 47- year -old woman has been arrested for burning her ex-boyfriend’s car at a police station. The fire spread and damaged another car belonging to a police officer.
The couple had arrived at the Boksburg North police station on Sunday to seek intervention for the fight they were involved at that time, police said.
Constable Justice Ramaube said on arrival at the station the man reported that the woman had been assaulting him at his house and he decided to go to the police station for help.
“The man came to the police station after failing to resolve their matter. He said she failed to understand that the man did not want to take her back after a year of break up,” he said.
Ramaube said the woman allegedly sneaked out of the police station unnoticed while they were waiting to get help from officers and set the car alight in the parking lot, burning it beyond repair.
Two other cars which were parked next to the man’s bakkie were damaged. The woman was later arrested.
“She will be appearing at the Boksburg magistrate’s court on Wednesday,” Ramahube said.

Over the weekend Sunday World reported that Emtee’s parents accused Nicole Chinsamy his baby momma of being a gold digger. The paper then alleged that the parents of these young lovers fought over the accusations.
Speaking to the publication the parents revealed everything from the time the feud began and how Nicole allegedly controls Emtee.
“We are saying this because in March, Emtee and Nicole organised a party for their second-born child. We went there to celebrate with them, but the party nearly degenerated into a physical fight between my wife and Nicole’s mother.
“As we were busy celebrating the party, Nicole’s mother accused my wife of spreading rumours that she [Nicole’s mother] was eating Emtee’s money. There was a big argument and they almost beat each other up. Nicole’s mother told us that we must never set foot in her house, she doesn’t want to see us anymore,” said his father.
He further added that the way he is carrying on abandoning his culture and and being controlled by his baby momma will be the reason his career ends off bitterly.
“He hardly visits home. He has never brought the kids home for rituals. This woman and her mother have taken total control of our son. We plead with Emtee to get out of that home before it is too late. This woman only loves him for his money,” said Ndevu.

EeQue comes through with visuals for his single Kgali Kgali which was put to perfection through the collaboration of fellow rapper Kid X.
Kgali Kgali was released back in 2018 and has been performed on a number of shows including Grain Session. Made available on Google Play the single caught the attention of both Kwaito and Hip Hop music lovers. With over 600 downloads Kgali Kgali still receives raving views from fans.
Kid X’s contribution to the song doesn’t go unnoticed at all, he drops bars like there’s no tomorrow and follow up with a hook that provides a much tasteful flavor to the song. On the music video the stars are seen showing off just the amount of effort they put into putting them into masterpiece.

Cassper Nyovest has lately been entangled in another Twitter battle with another celebrity the top charting DJ Prince Kaybee.
The war escalated rather too quick between the artists who threw shots at each other about their bodies. Prince Kaybee first tweeted that one has to have arms big enough to hold his bae as caption from his picture. His follower said that he must have been inspired by Cassper Nyovest to work hard on his body.
Prince didn’t take kindly to the tweet and responded by saying that “So you think my arms were inspired by someone who doesn’t have them?” – the tweet marked the beginning of the beef that ended roughly.
Cassper responded to Prince by saying that he must stop editing his pictures to make his waist appear smaller. “If you could stop editing your pictures to make your waist smaller, you have a bad tendencies.”
After that Kaybee simply responded by calling him Shotpan and ending it all off by saying that Nyovest is his hero but he still has arms bigger than his.

Future’s SAVE ME EP couldn’t reach the top spot on the Billboard 200 due to some stiff competition, including the Jonas Brothers (No. 1) and Santana (No. 3). The Freebandz leader’s latest release reached No. 5, making it the highest-charting Hip Hop project of the week.
Newcomer Polo G was the biggest surprise though, landing at No. 6 with his debut album Die A Legend. Other notable Hip Hop debuts were Tyga’s Legendary, which became his best-charting album since 2015, and Tee Grizzley’s Scriptures LP, which secured the No. 20 spot.
Elsewhere, DJ Khaled and DaBaby maintained their positions in the Top 10 while Tyler, The Creator fell from No. 6 to No. 15. And further down the chart, Denzel Curry’s ZUU plummeted from No. 32 to No. 135 in its second week.
Earlier this year, Future earned his sixth No. 1 album with the release of The WIZRD. The influential artist couldn’t make it seven with his SAVE ME EP though, instead having to settle for No. 5.
Future had a tough hill to climb with new albums from the Jonas Brothers, Santana and Luke Combs also entering the charts for the week. In the end, he secured a Top 5 release off the strength of selling 41,529 total album equivalent units.
Columbia Records may have found a new star in Polo G. The creator of the hit single “Pop Out” debuted at No. 6 with his first studio album, Die A Legend.
Polo’s success marked another example of streaming’s importance on the charts. He only sold 761 copies in terms of pure album sales but managed to move 38,028 total units thanks to his large amount of streams.
The comeback story of Tyga continues. After failing to chart with last year’s Kyoto album, Tyga made his way back on the Billboard 200 thanks to his Legendary LP.
The West Coast rhymer’s latest project hit No. 17 after racking up 24,524 total units in its first week. The album marks his highest-charting LP since 2015’s Fan Of A Fan: The Album collaboration with Chris Brown.
Note: The first number below is this week’s “total album equivalent units” count, an intersection of album sales, single sales, and streams implemented by Billboard’s new rating system. A pure album sales figure is available in bold in parenthesis and information about each album’s streaming count is available in brackets.

Last week Friday the Ngud’ hitmaker had fans on their tears when he dropped what has been dubbed the most heartwarming songs of 2019.

Featured on the single are Tshego, Thee Legacy an Makwa Fellow celebrities and fans can’t stop giving praise to the rapper for creating something so beautiful. Now he asked fans how they felt when they watched the music video, rapper Ms Supa, BK Supremo, and Kid X were few of many people who responded to the question.

Earlier this week we brought you the story of Dravon Ames and his pregnant fiancée Iesha Harper who, along with their two young girls, were confronted by police in Phoenix, Arizona during an incident that was close to being deadly.
Video shows police pointing guns at the family in the apartment complex parking lot of their babysitter and yelling profanity, particularly at the pregnant mother. They also threatened to shoot them.
The bystander video went viral and apparently, it’s caught the attention of Jay-Z, who is reportedly lending his legal services to the family. Team ROC has hired high-powered attorney Alex Spiro to work on behalf of the family and is calling for the termination of the police officers involved in the incident.
Spiro is seeking charges against one of the police officers for child neglect and assisting the family with their already on-going civil lawsuit against the city of Phoenix, in which they are seeking $10 million in damages.
The claim filed by Ames and Harper allege that the officers committed battery, unlawful imprisonment (after the two were reportedly arrested and taken into custody), false arrest and other civil rights violations. The family is seeking $10 million in damages – $2.5 million for each person in the car at the start of the incident.
The Phoenix police have not released the name of the officer.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has reportedly designed a plan with his legal team that will get him out of jail in five months, according to TMZ.
One of 6ix9ine’s attorneys, Dawn Florio, said if the other co-defendants strike plea deals and the trial is canceled, they’ll ask a judge to grant 6ix9ine time served. If the judge agrees, he’d walk free because he’s successfully fulfilled his obligations under the cooperation agreement he made with the feds.
6ix9ine’s attorneys hope all of the other co-defendants in the case take please deals considering the significant evidence against them. Then, there wouldn’t be a need for a trial at all.
The controversial rapper has been behind bars since last November. He pleaded guilty to nine federal in January but has been willing to divulge information relating to the case, earning him the nickname “Snitch9ine.”
Four of his co-defendants have also pleaded guilty, including Jensel “Ish” Butler, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan and Faheem “Crippy” Walter.
Cassper Nyovest Shares How He Feels About His Beef With Emtee! Ever since Emtee stepped onto the Hip Hop scene, there has been an on and off beef between him and Cassper.
When Emtee was asked where the beef stems from, the rapper responded saying that Cassper thinks that he knows him and always has something to say about him. Speaking in an interview on The Drive With Mo Flava and Masechaba Ndlovhu, Cassper spoke on the beef and sees Emtee as a cub roaring at him which he finds funny.
“I don’t know what his problem is, he thinks I hate him,” said Cassper speaking on the matter. He was then asked if he hates Emtee and he responded asking if one can hate Emtee. The rapper then confirmed that he actually loves the rapper.

SANDTON – Alexandra residents have threatened to bring Sandton to a standstill on Monday morning.
Residents agreed to embark on a second total shutdown at a community meeting at the weekend.
They claim Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has failed to respond to their grievances.
Residents say they are tired of lawlessness, poor service delivery and the increasing number of informal structures in the area.
They accuse authorities of doing nothing.
Mashaba is due to meet residents in a week’s time.

The rivalry between the nostalgic fans of old-school rappers and the new-school up-and-comers (or, as I call them, “Team: Art is subjective”) can get downright sitcom-ish at times.
From Anderson .Paak scolding Lil Yachty’s non-Tupac-and-Biggie-knowing-face-ass about learning and respecting hip-hop’s lineage, to Pete Rock wanting to smack fire out of Waka Flocka for claiming to be the new Nas and Jay-Z (Pete got that arthritis and shit, so he just wrote an angry Instagram post instead), to the infamous Joe Budden-vs- Migos standoff, to 21 Savage calling out “OG Rappers” for judging the new generation, everyone seems to be in a perpetual state of social media warfare over the current state of hip-hop.
All the big, bad Joe Buddens of the world need to stop huffing and puffing and blowing up everyone’s spot while pining away for some long-lost golden era of hip-hop. #TeamArtIsSubjective and their fan base are vocal about their desire for us old-school critics to give the youngins room to create and allow hip-hop to have subgenres like all other music. Lil Yachty said, in an interview with The Guardian: “Older hip-hop people, they don’t understand evolution, or just don’t want it. One of the two.”
Here’s the thing that’s hard for an old head to admit: They’re right (well, the Yachty quote is debatable, but … whatever).
If you’re still saying, “That ain’t real hip-hop!” you need to return your whole narrative to 2004 and go find yourself a cave to go cry in. It’s all hip-hop.
Jazz includes contemporary, big band, acid and blue note. Rock ’n’ roll includes grunge, punk, classic and metal. Even metal includes thrash, speed, death and crust punk (we’re talking subgenres inside a subgenre … it’s like Inception, but for people who like guitar music).
So there’s absolutely no reason why trap, snap, bass, hyphy, crunk and “mumble rap” (which I’m just learning is a controversial term, but … they do be mumbling!) can’t be included under the umbrella genre that is hip-hop.
Some things aren’t subjective. 2 Chainz will never be 2Pac, just like Tyler Perry will never be James Baldwin. I don’t know when we got into this “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” era of hip-hop discourse, but I’m telling y’all, it’s for the birds. It’s indicative of how a lot of rappers have become disconnected from the full spectrum of the culture.
The larger culture has always been critical of artists and music it determined to be inferior. It’s where the phrase “wack emcees” comes from. If it seems disrespected, it’s supposed to be. Hip-hop literally invented the word “diss.”
The truth is, this isn’t purely a generational thing, as there is no era in hip-hop where purists (or real “heads”) weren’t talking shit about commercial rap music. Ask Kool Herc and Grandmaster Caz what they thought about the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight.” Ask Run-DMC how many elitist assholes had something to say about their crossover collaboration with Aerosmith.
Old-school hip-hoppers have always had a list as long as an MC Hammer remix of rappers from our era we absolutely despised. And none of the opinions had even the slightest impact on their bottom lines.
If you’re a fan of popular music, you’re on the favorable side of supply and demand, so old school rappers & fans just don’t understand the degree of contempt new school fans have for the detractors of their faves. It’s like they’re sitting at the popular kids’ table worried about what the second-string chess club is gossiping about. Migos spent all of 2017 at the top of every pop chart in the country. They don’t give a fuck how trash you think their are.
“We the biggest group ever. Ever. In pop, hip-hop, all that, because every genre in music right now is structured off us. We got this culture.”
—RAPPER OFFSET OF MIGOS
Truth is, subgenre has always been present in hip-hop. What was the media-inflamed East Coast-vs.-West Coast beef but a battle between rap genres no different than when a death metal enthusiast declares their hatred for alternative punk?
All music is art, and all art—when put on display—is subject to the judgment and interpretation of both appreciative and unappreciative audiences. And the nature of that world, for both the artists and their die-hard fans, requires a thicker skin.

Well known rapper in South Africa Ifani tries helping matric pupils to improve their performance by teaming up with another musician Papzito Selema.
The two came up with an idea October of last year and decided to give tutorials to different learners in Limpopo. Ifani holds an Honors degree in Computer science and Papzito has BSc in Engineering.
By far they have been using mobile classrooms but said that they aim to expand to better classrooms. “We need funds to build a proper academy. We are also looking for a land to build a laboratory,” said Papzito.
The rapper added the announcement on Twitter as well. “Myself and @iFani_Haymani have a vision to build the finest STEM education institutions in the townships and rural areas starting from Limpopo and Eastern Cape. Musk Academy is already running in Limpopo.”
